HISTORY
2026 - The Gophers leave the WCLA after 2 decades in the league to join the WCLO and compete in the NCWLL region.
2025 - After bouncing back from a tough showing at the Santa Barbara Shootout, the Gophers rallied to win 7 of their next 8 games, all against regional (MWLL) teams. They qualified for their third consecutive MWLL playoff tournament.
2024 - The Gophers' regular season success propelled them to a second-straight MWLL playoff appearance.
2023 - The Gophers joined the newly formed MWLL under the WCLA umbrella. After a successful season, they earned a spot in the inaugural MWLL Tournament.
2021 - Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, the Gophers had an abbreviated season with no official competition schedule.
2020 - Before their season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gophers went undefeated after going 4-0 at the Santa Barbara Shootout. They beat Western Washington 17-11 and Washington 18-11 in a Friday double-header. On Saturday, they beat USC 14-12. Finally, the Gophs secured a 15-12 win over Arizona after battling back from a four-goal deficit in the second half.
2019 - Earned a second-straight trip to WCLL Playoffs, hosted in Michigan.
2018 - Earned a trip to WCLL Playoffs in Beverly Hills, Michigan.
2017 - The Gophers had a successful season and ended with a 4-2 record.
2016 - The Gophers traveled back to WCLL Playoffs for a third time. After getting a bid to the WCLA National Tournament, they entered the tournament seeded 11th. Minnesota shocked their opponents in the first three rounds of the national tournament, en route to their first-ever National Championship game. The Gophers put up a tough fight against #1 seeded Georgia but couldn't come out with the win. This season was the best a Minnesota team has ever placed on the national scale, and showed that Minnesota is a national competitor! Allie Thalhuber received First Team All American for Attack. Hannah Segar received First Team All American for Midfield. Molly Schonecker received Second Team All American for Defense. Sheila Hirsch, Hannah Segar, and Allie Thalhuber made the WCLA All-Tournament Team. WCLA DI Most Outstanding Midfielder - Allie Thalhuber. WCLA DI Most Outstanding Goalie - Hannah Gilbert.

2015 - The Gophers competed in their second consecutive WCLL tournament and fell to Pittsburgh in the Championship. They won an at-large bid to the WCLA National Tournament and finished the season ranked 15th in the WCLA. The team was awarded the Sportsmanship award for the national tournament. Hannah Segar and Allie Thalhuber for received the First Team All American honors.
2014 - The Gophers left the NCWLL and joined the WCLL in order to compete at a higher level. They earned a trip to their first-ever WCLL Playoff Tournament.
2013 - A historic year for the Gophers who earned another trip to the WCLA National Tournament in CO Spring and finished season ranked 10th in the WCLA, the 2nd highest ranking ever achieved by the club. Freshman Allie Thalhuber was named the WCLA Rookie of the Year.

2011 - The WDIA rebrands to the WCLA.

2008 - Won the NCWLL for the second consecutive year, earned a trip to WDIA Nationals and placed 14th.
2007 - Earned first place in the newly formed North Central Women's Lacrosse League (NCWLL) securing them a spot at their first-ever WDIA National Tournament where they placed 15th.
2006 - Gophers came in second in in the UMWLL Tournament after losing the championship game by a single goal.
2005 - The club participated in the first Upper Midwest Women's Lacrosse League (UMWLL) play-off tournament, placing 2nd by 3 goals.

2004 - UMN Women's Lacrosse officially became a sport club recognized by the university.
2002 - University of Minnesota Women's Lacrosse was founded.
